Online Adoration Well, I do

Online Adoration
Well, I do not want to knock it –that is, online Adoration at savior.org. I think it can be useful for the homebound, and JPII did recently say that the Internet can be used for Evangelisation… Well, it’s just not the same… I mean, I feel kind of silly staring at the Monstrance on the computer screen.
I wonder if some theologian can tell us if we get the same graces as we do if we go to Adoration in person. I wonder if there is a difference equivalent to the difference between chatting with a friend on instant messenger and visiting them in real life…

  1. Of course we get the same graces.I cannot understand how people worry about such things. God can do ANYTHING and cares for us infinitely. that is why He gave us the Blessed Sacrament anyway. So whether we see Jesus on a computer screen or in real life makes no diference. We are still contemplating this wonderful gift which ever way we contemplate it.
I bet when the concept of spiritual communion was first talked about there was a similar resistance to accept the idea. Now it is fully accepted as good thing in the absence of physical communion.
I suspect the exact same thing will hqappen about the concept of online adoration. And we should not be patronising saying ‘I guess its “OK” for the house bound and sick’
Praise God in His infinite Kindness Wisdom and Humility in giving Himself to us in the Blessed Sacrament. Mike
