if I invented a giant hamster wheel to put my kids in when they seem like they need to burn some sreious energy, it would sell? Very AP, don’t you think?

Hmmm. I can see Amalia running around in something like that with a big grin, but eventually she would figure out some way of getting it to make some sort of hideous noise.
don’t they have them at mcdonald’s playplaces? At least that is what they look like when I drive past….
We went there for lunch today for just that very reason. Being there is what made me think of the hamster wheels LOL
Davey’s daddy would buy one.
There is a really human size hamster wheel at a park in the town where my sister in law and her family live (Olney, Illinois….home of the white squirrels).
Funny thing, though, the only one whose energy it burned was mine, since none of the kids was quite big enough to get it moving well (kids aren’t little either 11, 8, 7 and 6!) I could only get it moving so fast before I was dying of laughter…
It would be very popular if you put in a feature that made it light up or play a tune when the child got it going really well. That way tired, cranky children could get in it and just swing, while children who are really wired could run like the dickens on it and have the fun of getting it to play “Pop Goes the Weasel”. It has possibilities, definite possibilities.
sign me up for two, christmas is just around the corner. also, while you’re inventing nifty gadgets, do you think you could make one of those battery operated baby swings in an adult size? much obliged.
ps-i still assume AP stands for attachment parenting. am i right?
I would totally get one! And for those of you that wanted to see what the one in Olney, IL looks like, my curiosity led me to this site, featuring some pictures of the wheel in action. 🙂
Davey’s daddy — so would that be for you or for Davey? 😉
I know Hambet could use one of these, but what if we could get one of these rigged up in an adult size and wired it up to play The History Channel once the user sustained a certain speed…. my chubby hubby would be an Olympian! Fair is fair, so for his chubby bride you could set it for Jane Austen movies and other A&E adaptations.
Elinor’s idea is great.
I suddenly remembered that there is a big one of these in Lithia Park in Ashland, OR. As teenagers we would run in it until all but one had fallen out. It is amazing that none of us broke bones in that thing (or that the City of Ashland still keeps it – maybe they are trying to reduce the teenager population).
Smockmomma — yes, AP is for attachment parenting. And I think Pansy was sarcastic about the AP quality of a hamster wheel for kids 🙂
