My New Yorker mother and I were talking about a horrible recent accident in Northern Virginia apparently caused by a driver looking down at a map. She went into saying (paraphrased,) “Yeah, there was this tiger on the road here and a bunch of cars got into an accident” which in spite of the previous sad subject matter, I can’t help but find amusing, since that’s a little less common and different from being distracted by looking at directions or talking on a cell phone. I’m glad people only sustained minor injuries in the tiger situation, anyway.
