On page 82, in regard to the Fifth Commandment, it says:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><b>Abortion,<\/b>which is willful murder committed before a child&#8217;s birth. Often disguised as &#8220;termination of pregnancy,&#8221;<b>it deprives a child of heaven forever.<\/b>(emphasis added) It is punished by the Church by excommunication.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Before I go on, let me add this disclosure, the purpose of this little blog isn&#8217;t to dispute whether or not unbaptised babies do or don&#8217;t get to heaven(EENS). Just to say I read this and thought &#8220;whoa&#8221;.<\/b><\/p>\n<p> When I read this to my husband and later to my brother, they were both aghast. &#8220;I do not think God would deny little babies heaven when it is not their fault&#8230;&#8221; I am wondering if it may be dangerous to say otherwise. I mean we cannot begin to understand how far reaching the consequences of abortion is (or any sin for that matter). I think the point is it is prudent to weigh all the consequences of one&#8217;s actions before they take place, and to teach that this could be a very real consequence-not just the obvious consequence of death.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Tough Aspects of Our Faith I was reading This is The Faith by Canon Francis Ripley.
