\nWith antic toys so funnily bestuck!
\nLight as the singing bird that wings the air-

\n(Why Jane, he’ll set his pinafore afire!)
\nThou imp of mirth and joy!
\nIn love’s dear chain, so strong and bright a link,
\nThou idol of thy parents-(Drat the boy!

\nThy father’s pride and hope!
\n(he’ll break the mirror with that skipping rope!)
\nWith pure heart newly stamped with Nature’s mint-
\n(Where did<\/i> her learn that squint?)
\nThou young domestic dove!
\n(He’ll have that jug off with another shove!)
\nDear nursling of the Ilymeneal nest!
\n(Are those torn clothes his best?)
\nLittle epitome of a man!
\n(He’ll climb upon the table,that’s his plan!)
\nTouched with th beauteous hints of dawning life
\n(He’s got a knife!)
\nThou pretty opening rose!
\n(Go to your mother, child, and wipe your nose!)
\nBalmy and breathing music like the South,
\n(He really brings my heart into my mouth!)
\nFresh as the morn, brilliant as it’s star,-
