An Argentine goldsmith is planning to give a chalice to Pope Francis depicting Our Lady, Undoer of Knots.<br \/>\nWhen I first posted about this devotion, I had thought <a href=http:\/\/www.maryundoerofknots.com\/history.htm\">that the knots represented the knots of sin<\/a> and its consequences.  But <a href=\"http:\/\/www.desatadora.com.ar\/historia-i.htm\">according to this Argentinean website<\/a>, the image was originally commissioned to celebrate the healing of a troubled marriage.  While praying for the couple, <a href=\"http:\/\/campus.udayton.edu\/mary\/resources\/MaryUntierKnots\/UntierKnots.html\">Father Jakob Rem raised the ribbon used in the marriage ceremony, &#8220;untying all the knots and smoothing it out.&#8221;<\/a>  The ribbon became smooth and perfectly white.
