A couple of months ago my neighbor brought us one of his kittens which the kids fed, hugged and cuddled and named Legolas, much to our older cat, Chun Li’s chagrin. Soon after, a kitten who could be a mirror image of Legolas appeared in our barn. Fastolph just adored her and named her Melody.
Now I did not want a third cat, more food, more shots and more temper tantrums from Chun Li who showed her dissapproval of Legolas by using Fastolph’s bed as a litter box. Yuck.
Melody is so pathetic. She and Legolas touch paws at each other through the front screen window. She follows us around mewing when any of us go outside. The kids bring her bowls of food which I think other cats come and steal from her. Then I saw her drinking water one day out of a puddle out front after the rain. My husband bought her a flea and tick collar and pretty much we decided we will bring her in when we can get her shots and like flea dipped or something.
Although, Polo might change his mind when he comes home today and sees that she and Legolas made a hole in the screen window so she can get in.

Is Fastolph musical? Is he a fan of Josie and the Pussycats?
Good question. So I asked him and he said because it is a girl cat and he liked that name.
Poor thing, kittens like that are sent to us I think. I had a catfor the longest time named
“Nothing”, because when we found him, he was covered in tar and mud and had been hit by a car (we thought), but the Vet said more like he had been abused, so his tail was dead and had to be amputated..Thus the name “Nothing”.
I had him for years, and one day he just went away and I never saw him again. Anyway,I think it’s cute Falstoph wants to take care of her.
I think kittens are sent when God thinks you need another one. We have scored two new cats like that this year as our silly neighbours let their female cat have two litters before she was desexed. Pru and Maeve are very welcome additons to our family but the old grey cat was not impressed.
