Dear Olympus Imaging America Inc:

I hate you.

I hate that your camera, given to me as a birthday gift last May, has broken twice now. I mean, it's great that it's still under warranty and all, but do you think I enjoy having to pay to ship it there and back to you? Again? A total of a month and a half in the shop in the first ten months I've owned it? If I didn't want to be able to use the camera, I wouldn't own one. You know?

Might I recommend the Canon SureShot cameras? I have one that was given to me as a birthday gift in 1998 and *still* works despite being dropped multiple times (once in the lobby of the Empire State building!). The only annoying feature of my camera is that I have to hold down (not just press) the button for it to take a picture. Sometimes, people get impatient. It also makes it a little difficult to get pictures of some moving objects.

Thanks, Amy. Trouble is, I am totally and utterly spoiled for digital.

Ah, but they make a digital version :) It has a similar problem with that darn button, lol. One of my co-workers has it. She's super-careful though so I don't have any info on how well the digital version holds up to being tossed around.
