Saints with swords
Any ideas for a Saint costume that involves a sword? (Hambet has flatly rejected St Michael.) I've thought of St Louis; any other ideas?

St. Martin of Tours--he also gets to wear a coolio cape that he slashed in two to give a beggar 1/2.

St. George - and he can have loads of fun if another kid dresses as a dragon!

St. Peter...had the sword in the garden and cut off the ear of those arresting Christ.
Or, you could always get him a pistol and dress him as St Gabriel Ponsetti...

Probably any king-saint like St. Louis--then you get a sword and a crown :)

Ooooo, Saint George the dragon slayer!!! I like that one.
Saint Hubert had a dagger and a bow and arrow -- close enough?

Thanks for all the great suggestions (and Sparki, I remember that awesome St Hubert costume!)
We decided to go with St George! I dug in my fabric box and found some white muslin for the tabard. I used grosgrain ribbon for the red cross. Existing sword and shield props from Ikea et voila! Off to the party!
