My Husband is Such a Pill!

He did not want to drive an hour away to Oneonta at midnight to go see Lord of the Rings. Claiming that we would have gotten home at like 4 am and he would have had to leave for work at 5 am. What a pill! I guess we will have to wait until Saturday like some kind of psuedo-fans.

With a 3 hour and 35 minute movie shown at midnight plus an hour drive he would have had at least 25 minutes to sleep.

Oh dear, I'm soooo wanting to go see this. I haven't been to an adult movie in the theatre in ages. :^(

Be sure to give your review as soon as you see it. BTW, there's a great review of it online right now at Catholic Exchange.

I'm sorry Dani. If it's any consolation, Matt wouldn't wait 'til the weekend when we could go see it together. HE did get to go last night, but I'm going tomorrow evening with my cousin. We're going to drool over Orlando, which is much easier to do without bringing boys along.

You mean they still make movies that dont involve Elmo, Bear in the Big Blue House, SpongeBob SquarePants or The Wiggles?!?!?!

It's been so long since I was in a movie theater; at least since "The Patriot" came out (well, I did see "Matrix II" but that was really just a bad dream...right?).

OK, the Wiggles, do not get me started. Does anyone else find them annoying and even offensive? Why are men these days pictured so androgenously?

About the Wiggles...I just assumed they couldn't dance, and that this leads to their being awkward, which in turn leads to well my impressions of their being rather effeminate. I don't think they really qualify as metrosexual as they're sort of lacking in the fashion department. lol OK, I know that this might not make sense to anyone but me, but seriously, that's how I've felt about them. Anthony is the manliest, IMO, of them all. My kids really like the music, but are sort of lukewarm about the show.

I blogged about this before.

Wow, I love the Wiggles. The sets really get me (especially when they are visiting Henry the Octopus), and I actually like the songs, too. I also find the bit with Jeff falling asleep really funny, too. I never saw them as that androgynous. They all wear trousers and have short hair. While they don't have romantic interests, I would not expect that in a children's show. And Captain Feathersword and Paul the Chef seem fairly gruff.

As far as children's shows, though, Mr. Noodle of Elmo fame is a comic genius. I could watch those bits all day.

Poor Mr. Noodle. He passed away last year. :^(

And yes, the Wiggles music is great. The kids just watched a Wiggly Christmas and the songs are really catchy.

Jinkies! I am afraid to ask as opposed to what? ;)

OK, maybe I am overreacting about the androgeny, but everytime I see them I think I would be scared to meet a man like that in real life. The kids even have a running joke about "can you imagine Dad ever acting like that?"

Patty,

I know. It was also my favorite of the Noodle clan, Mr. Noodle's brother, Mr. Noodle. He usually had me in stitches within 5 seconds. Requiescat in Pace.
