Not sure what's wrong

| | Comments (15)

I have about five possible posts, responses to very thought provoking posts of others, sloshing all around in my brain. None of them seem to want to jell.

I can't seem to come up with anything worthy of entry in comments boxes (I'm sure "you rock!" is good for the ego, but a few supporting sentences would probably be even more helpful)

I can't complete a metaphor or a simile to save my life.

I think my brain has slipped a gear or something.

i think it's a summer thing.

Maybe some mental WD-40? Like, oh, a hot bath or a cup of tea and a nap? It might not work, but hey, it can't hurt.

now you know what it was like when i blogged. well actually, i barely tried to add anything to the discussion of thought-provoking posts... mostly just linked.

but now i wish i could read what you have to say, because i'm sure it's interesting even if it hasn't quite "jelled." hasn't tso done sort of "unfinished draft" posting before?

Yeah, it's probably the weather outside. It's hard concentrating when it starts getting nice. Being a college student in the middle of finals, I know what it's like to have that "burnt-out" feeling right now where I find myself having to rely on my calculator to compute 1+1 (which, at 12 am can lead to some interesting answers). What I find that works for me is spending time doing a fairly mindless activity such as watching a movie with multiple plotholes that I enjoy. Like, just taking an hour or two to just make some popcorn and relax really helps out a lot.

Take two days off and each afternoon, as you have time, indulge in a Haagen Dazs ice cream bar. I prefer the one with vanilla ice cream with almonds i the chocholate topping...

Hot bath?!? Cup of Tea?!? Ice Cream?!?

You, my friend need a Bombay Sapphire martini and a good cigar. Nothing stimulates writing better than that. At the very least a double shot of good, ristretto espresso!

I've been like this the better part of a year now. :/

Thoreau said, "never trust a thought arrived at sitting down", which is to say a good walk does wonders. Jelled or unjelled I'd like to read your thoughts.

Amalia, on the other hand, thinks that you need beef jerky and strawberries. She might be right. You should see the stack of paintings she just did. Perhaps if I had fortified myself with beef jerky and strawberries I would have had just as productive a session! Instead I stuck with a cheese roll and espresso and only have a little man made out of tinfoil and colored tape to show for the last three hours.

I would offer you a sip of my cosmo if I could send it through the wires. 3 oz vodka, 1 oz la belle orange, 1 oz trader joes unsweetened pure cranberry juice, juice of one lime, shake over ice and pour. Yay, I have tomorrow off!

Alicia,

Cosmos are OK for girls, but any man who drinks them should be required to register with the government and should not be allowed to hold certain jobs.

You certainly cannot go wrong with a good cigar.

In any case, I assure you that you DO, indeed, rock.

How old are you?

I'm with TSO on this one. When I'm gloomish, and starting to feel a bit like Eeyore (and I've been that way a lot lately), making it a point to get out and WALK has helped me.

I don't know why.

And perhaps it is time to take it to the dr to see if the old hormone levels are out of whack or something.

Actually, I do have hormone issues, and am under a doctor's care. I think this is just some kind of transient mental fog. I hope it's transient, anyway.
