Madonna: Friday Gigs Are Against My Religion
Deeply religious superstar Madonna will play no Friday night gigs on her upcoming world tour - because the teaching of the Kabbalah forbids it. The "Holiday" hitmaker has pledged to respect the Jewish practice of Shabbat, the religion's sabbath, by dining with her close family every Friday rather than working. And Madonna, who is married to British filmmaker Guy Ritchie, hopes her move with convince the world she is very serious about the mystical teachings of the Kabbalah. A source says, "This shows just how much Madonna is influenced by Kabbalah. She is completely focused on following her beliefs no matter what lengths she has to go to."

Why does Madonna need to "convince the world" how serious she is about Kabbalah? How can anyone be serious about Kabbalah anyway?

Madonna's silly.

"Deeply religious"? Oh brother. Would this be the same Madonna who, when invited to see the Holy Father, announced that if the Pope wanted to see her he could buy a ticket like anyone else?

Of course, no mere run-of-the-mill Judaism (or Catholicism) will do for the "deeply religious" Madonna -- only esoteric Kabbalah.

It's about as convincing as that fake British accent she used to speak with.

If she is so into this nonsense, why did she go through the charade of baptizing her daughter (in a Prottie church, nonetheless), Lourdes? This woman is a glutton for publicity, ANY publicity. She never could sing anyway.

As the only Duce willing to wear the plumed helmet, let me formally announce that Madonna Ciccone is no longer an Italian. Hah! Finished. Let her be an Anglo. So there!

Or why for that matter cause all the Irish Catholics to be upset by having concert on Easter Sunday?

Oh, Alex, yes, the accent, wasn't that a scream?

I have a general loathing and disgust for the
so-called "superstars" of the Music industry. They make a fortune off of doing the unspeakable, and then turn around and try to act so moral,so upright? What is that all about? Madonna has time and time again done so many outrageous and offensive things, it's hard to imagine her taking ANY religion seriously.

But maybe I'm being too harsh here, perhaps being a parent has mellowed her, along with the fact that she's getting old. But that still wouldnt explain why she feels the world needs to know how serious she is. Perhaps she's afraid that her fans will think this is yet another phase, another marketing ploy? That very well may be the case.

But why is it that musicians seem to think it's acceptable to offend the religious? take Lauryn Hill and her antics at the Vatican recently; how did she even conceive of that being acceptable?

"But why is it that musicians seem to think it's acceptable to offend the religious?"

Dis-respect...love of self...humanism...
greed...

Perhaps it is like Faust...they have all sold their souls to the devil for their fame...it's kinda strange that Lourdes, Madonna's daughter, is called Lola...
like the Lola from Dam Yankees...Whatever Lola wants...Lola gets...

(Dam Yankees is a modern day Faust)

I also think there is a song from that play/movie called 'Two lost souls'...

Fitting don't you think?
