Thank Goodness, I am Starting to Feel Better!

| | Comments (8)

The nausea is lifting, my energy is slowly and surely returning. I am not sitting down and falling asleep-well all the time-LOL. I am starting to able to cook again and clean the bathroom. I am so grateful. I am not totally 100%, I still gag when I brush my teeth, but I am semi-functional.

If the weather would just get nice and warm (it was snowing a little while ago), I would love to start running. I just cannot get motivated when I am cold and want to sit inside under a blanket.

Yay!

I'm sorry, I just have this mental image of Fastolf and Gorbulus running after you.

Deo gratias!

We just found out we are expecting, and unfortunately, I am dreading the morning sickness - which I'm already sensing twinges of... might be psychological though. I do pray I am able to approach morning sickness with a spiritual eye and embrace and carry that cross after the example of our Lord.

I do pray you feel fully functional soon!

Are pregnant women "supposed to" run, anyway? Of course, you're much more fit than I am... I guess a lot has to do with pre-pregnancy fitness.

I'm over my pregnancy sickness for about 7 weeks (am now 23 weeks.) But some things are still tainted with the memory. Like very early in pregnancy I read three books by Torey Hayden, who taught special education, in quick succession. Nothing to do with the subject matter although it was disturbing at times, but ugh, no way am I reading another one any time soon! Even other books about teachers and kids with various troubles at the library last night seemed likely to make me sick. Seems like nausea can in fact be psychologically induced, even though I don't think it happened for me until after the "real" sickness passed!

Theosis,
Congrats!
D's Mommy,
I agree about heavy subject matter. It tends to worsen my nausea as well.
Ed,
Gorbulas and Fastolph running after me and me yelling at them every two feet "go inside and bother your father!"

Also, D's Mommy,
Exercise during pregnancy is very beneficial, but it is not a time to train, but exercise to maintain a current level of health. You should not raise your heart rate very high-for example to the point of not being able to talk normally and you huff anf puff.

I have not been exercising since I have gotten pregnant because I have felt so icky, so I do not know if I am in good enough shape to run.

I forgot -- did you say you used to be a personal trainer or something?

Yes.
