Two Year Olds!

| | Comments (6)

They make no sense! Terrible Two-lings think they can push everyone around and bend everyone to their will. Yet they have not noticed they are quite short. It is 7.30 am and Gorbulus is having a temper tantrum and is all sniffles because he has his coat in hand and is ready to go out and play. Five minutes ago it was because he did not want to wear his shirt but his pajama top over his jeans. What he has fashion sense now?

I should let him out. Usually something terrifying like a butterfly will fly by his face and he starts to panic and cry until someone goes out and rescues him.

Reminds me of Davey's insistence on wearing his coat indoors sometimes lately. Not just keeping it on after coming in but wanting to put it on. I let him. It's not dangerously hot. Maybe it helps him make believe that he is playing outside, although he hasn't needed a coat lately for that.

I hate when little people think that they are real people. When you look at them when they have attitudes, it is so obvious that they aren't. This is also true when they think that they can have real conversations at the age of two. So, basically, all of the little Mosses have thought that they were real at one point or another. I don't see how you can expect someone to take you seriously when you have dinosaurs on your clothes and talk about your have palm trees on your sandles.

CORRECTION: it should be "or when you have palm trees on your sandles".

my eighteen month old has already stepped into her "trying twos" stage. she has the disposition of our oldest daughter (very compassionate) and our second daughter (notably forthright) -- which has translated into an eighteen month old who smacks at you and then immediately hugs you. Good Lord, deliver us!

Smockmomma, that sounds a bit like Davey who is 26 months old. I heard he was hitting other kids, grabbing their toys, and saying "Sowwy" all in a row :( at a recent gathering w/a babysitter so the parents could have some quiet. I can imagine him doing it all very matter of factly, too...

I thought it was just my toddler avenger who would wack you with all his force and then say, "Sorry, Mama!" and kiss the spot he just whacked!

Strong-willed kids can be fun, but there are times.....
