The road to hell...

...as we all know, is paved with good intentions.

The roads in hell, I have come to believe, resemble the sections of I-70 running through Pennsylvania.

We're back. Have a ton of stuff to do. More later, I hope.

You haven't seen the average surface street in Oakland! Let's just put it this way: if you ever open the paper and see something about the 13th Avenue Sinkhole devouring whole neighborhoods, and I maintain a peculiar blogosphere silence, well, you will know what happened.

Potholes are cultivated here until they are about to swollow compact cars. Then a crew comes and fills them with some soft gooey stuff that is supposed to be temporary. The next hard rain clears it all out and we go back to square one.

Erik... that pretty much describes the roads near my home in Penna.

Peony... LOL! So very true. I had a teacher in hs who explained that Penna has such messed up roads bec there are too many for PennDOT to take care of. It's related to the extreme number of coal patch towns and roads winding around and over mountains connecting them.

Shuh,I've got a stretch of I 20 between Tuscaloosa and Meridian you haven't driven yet!

Good to see you're back and everything is good!

welcome back!
