Classical Music 101 and 102

“I’d like to learn more about classical music but haven’t any idea how to go about it. What would you suggest?”

I would suggest heading straight over to Vociferous Yawpings, where Mark Windsor has started a great series of posts answering precisely that question

Might I also recommend heading to the nearest public library and checking out a couple of classical music CDs. Maybe get a compilation of some of the greats and then an individual cd by a couple of individuals. Then you can listen to them and have a frame of reference when you do a bit of research on the different composers and styles.

(I know next to nothing about classical music...except that I like it loud!)
