After a splash in the tub this morning, Hambet rejected the clothes I'd laid out for them and stood up on tippy toes to select his own outfit for the day. He chose:

a pair of khaki shorts
a blue long-sleeved t-shirt with a truck picture
one white sock
one black sock
and his new black winter shoes
(No cartoon characters on the underwear today.)

alas! it begins.

Fastolph manages to put his clothes on inside and backwards. Then he hates to put his sneakers on but prefers his rubber mud boots, except he always puts one of his and one of Ian's on.

My teenager refuses to wear socks that match. SHe clains it is more efficient to simply grab two socks out of the drawer than to sort and match them, and that way it also doesn't matter if the dryer eats one. She does her own laundry and is generally a good kid, so I just sigh and ignore the sock thing.
I had one son who would only wear cowboy boots for footwear. Hmmm - I don't remember if I told his girlfriend that story. Time for an email or phone call.......

Hey Alicia, dont worry about the cowboy boots! weve got a kid at our Parish who wears a batman costume to mass!

Steve, did you ever stop to consider that maybe that's the real Batman?!?

Honestly, I'm failing to see what's wrong with Hambet's choice of clothing. As long as you're dressed, isn't that all that matters?

My brother never, but never, wears socks that match. At his wedding the groomsmen surprised him -- they all wore violently colored mismatched socks with their tuxedos. (My brother thought it was a riot.)

I also went through a brief stage in which I refused to wear matching socks. It was short-lived for me, though.

Sounds like a trend-setter to me. :)
