Hi!

Wow, I got on this time.

First, congrats to Davey's and Thomas's parents! Many blessings!

Thank you for the prayers as well. I was a little bummed to find out I had gestational diabetes, I suppose because 1) I was not sure what that meant and 2) I kind of feel like I do not need anything else on my plate. I am seeing an endocrinologist on Tuesday, but last Monday I met with the nutritionist. I am feeling much better because my eating habits turned out to not be so bad after all. She gave me a little glucose monitor, and so far my blood sugar seems OK, so I must be just on the border. But like Peony mentioned, the whole "well, after so many pregnancies, your body's abililty to cope has been reduced" thing is getting old.

The kids are well. As Peony mentioned, two weeks ago Rosie Posie won a blue ribbon for her cookies in the county fair. Last week they entered a race. Posco came in second fr his age group (8-10). Rosie Posie came in last, but she was not put off. The age group was 11-14, and she is 11. She was happy though because she ran the mile in 9 minutes and she ran the entire mile while many of the other kids had to stop and walk or drop out. She also did it with her shoelaces untied. She said she ws scared at first because many of the kids at the starting line were saying things like "I can beat these kids with no problem", as it turned out, those were many who had to stop and walk.

Posco's 9th birthday is on October 12 and he wanted very badly for his father to take him to the Usher concert. We actually considered it because he knows all the words to Confessions, Part 2 anyway. I know, I am a horrible mother. Well the tickets were $55 each anyway to see Usher, which is way to much. We censored much of what they got exposed to for years, but I got tired of listening to Veggie Tales in the car.

There is not much to tell, no news is good news, right? Fall is coming, some of the leaves are changing where we are. Polo has been chopping wood for winter. We went apple picking last weekend and I made apple butter and apple sauce. My neighbor came by with a sack of sweet corn yesterday. Summer went by to fast...

Well not much else until next time, pax.

Hi Dani!

So glad to read your update today. I'll continue to pray for you and your little one.

I liked Usher until he dissed Chili. The nerve. lol

God bless!

Praying for the GD stuff, your safety & the baby's. Sounds like things are going fairly well for you. Blessings!

Good to see you posting again, Pansy. You're missed.

So happy to see your post, Pansy. I will keep you and the little blessing you hold within you in my prayers. IKWYM about the "so many pregnancies" comments...they get really old fast.

Sorry to hear about GD. But you do have to be compliant regarding nutrition during pregnancy when you are diagnosed with GD. It usually means big baby.

I don't remember the exact stats about women with GD and diabetes later in life but the increased in risk is substantial enough to motivate me to watch it. I think it was 1 in 4 women with GD will develop diabetes later in life and develop it earlier than the average.

Another point to help motivate you is that if you can control it with altering your diet then you won't have to inject yourself with insulin a few times a day because that's the only pharmaceutical treatment for diabetes during pregnancy.

Of course, you can also ask Our Lady for intercession. St. Gerard is also a powerful intercessor.

God bless.

Thanks Pansy. Glad to hear your update. Will try to remember (I think the nursing hormones have my mind erased regularly) to pray for you and baby esp. in light of your diagnosis. Hope to hear more soon...
