39 Weeks!

| | Comments (10)

I have never made it this far! I don't know whether to feel proud or to be miserable because I'm still pregnant and think I will be for the rest of my life.

In the meantime, thank you all for the input on boy's names. There were some awesome names suggested and we have picked one. I think I will wait until Baby Day to announce the name.

I forgot to add that if I do not have the baby by Sunday, they are going to induce me do to the GD. I do not want to be induced, it is soooo painful. I am hoping we will have the baby before then the regular way.

HOORAY FOR BABIES WITH NAMES!!! And Congratulations on making it so far! We'll keep right on praying and we can't wait to find out his name!

P.S. Matt wants to know this kiddo's name... He guesses that you chose Bartholomew. (He's recently become fascinated with this particularl apostle)

HE BETTER NOT BE BORN ON MY BIRTHDAY!

Yes, he will be born on your birthday, and we'll have joint birthday parties for the two of you at Chuck E. Cheese.

Ahh, Pansy...I have always gone this far and after Number One, I realized that they are *so* much easier to care for on the inside!! (Of course, that is just something I told myself because wishing I were un-pregnant really didn't do me any good)

Mine have all been coming later and later, but last week I found myself wishing to deliver a couple of weeks early. Is it just that we're getting old and pregnancy gets harder???

And Sandy is such a nice name for a boy or a girl. I'm *so* glad you've selected it.

Hey...just remembered...I owe you the name of the s-e-x book for your daughter (and the boys after they start hanging around with the neighbor kids!). The series is called God's Design for Sex. I's a four book series. I used the first two with my boys, age 9 and 7. Book one is The Story of Me (ages 3-5) and book two is Before I Was Born (ages 5-8). The first isn't too graphic...probably basic stuff that regular curiosity has handled. The second is quite graphic but tasteful. The books are Christian, but not Catholic. I assume you know enough about Catholic sexual teaching to plug in what's missing. I've never looked at New Corinthians, the chastity ed program from CCL, so I can't compare.

Good luck this week!

Sandy

Amy-
I like Bartholemew, but my dh doesn't like anything slighty too eccentric. I had my heart set on Anselm, or Athanasius as well and they all got thumbs down.

Ed and Alex-
Woohoo, party over here! Yes, double birthday paries at Chuck E Cheese. And guess what Ed, Chuck E Cheese now serves beer and wine, and bsince you turn 21 today you can legally order beer wine or diet coke there! Then we can invite the Gang over and have them sing their funeral march version of "Happy Birthday" to you and the little guy.

Sandy-
Thanks for the name of the book-I will check it out.
As for the name Charlie, when we lived in Lawrenceville our next door neighbor had a son named Charlie. When she was pregnant she asked my mother of she could skip over the "Charles" on the birth certificate and just name him "Charlie" to which my mother replied "absolutly not!" but I think she did it anyway.
I kwym about not wishing to be pregnant, I always feel that way after I have the baby. But I am so miserable. I am in so much pain from round ligaments and dh has been saving up vacation time which we are anxious for him to take.

By way of solidarity ... we are expecting a baby any day now as well ... our 6th!!

Mr. Merrill,
Congratulations! There are so many babies due now. When I was having my third, he was born in April and I asked if springtime was the most common time of the year to have babies. She said no, around October is the busiest month because around January and February people are snowed in and have nothing better to do. Now I do not know if that's true, but it certainly made me chuckle.

July and August are usually pretty busy for babies, and things start to slow down around November.
Hoping you can avoid induction - but if it seems necessary , ask about prostaglandin to ripen the cervix first. Often it works well enough to avoid pitocin.
Looking forward to the birth announcement. I still wish I could be there to doula for you!

ooo. Anselm. Now there's another good name. How can your husband have anything against the name of a man who could prove God's existance by saying that God can't "not exist" because if He "doesn't exist" then He *does* exist. Or something like that. Oh, where IS my philosophy book when I need it??

Hurry up, baby :)
