I Think People Have Just Dun Lost Their Minds

Cuz I cannot figure out why anyone would get this for their toddler, or why there is such a fashion trend these days.

Thanks to Patty for the link.

If you get one for Dominic, he'd fit in with the people at Cornell.

I don't know if this will shed any light on the topic or not, but Jay Nordlinger from NRO yesterday published an e-mail he received from a reader on this topic (http://www.nationalreview.com/impromptus/impromptus200411300840.asp) :

"I'm an 18-year-old college student, but my boyfriend is currently deferring school as he manages a small, trendy retail outlet in the Midwest. [I'm omitting some details, to protect this couple from retaliation.] His store carries several Che Guevara items, including at least two shirts and a hat. Whenever anybody purchases one, he asks the buyer whether he knows who is featured on the item, and about half do not. He reports answers as diverse as "Bob Marley" and "that one guy from the 70s." [Guevara died in 1967.] He makes it a point to inform them of Guevara's identity and legacy, as briefly as possible, but so far has yet to dissuade any of them from purchasing. It sickens us both to see that their nonchalance doesn't disappear with their ignorance. . . ."

You know, when I was little they had clothes with pictures of He-man, Spider-man, or such, because Spider-man and He-man were cool! Also, at my age, I knew who He-man and Spider-man were. Why can't they have clothes with cartoon characters instead?

The picture on the onsie is disturbing but I also find disturbing the fact that some idiot would pay $25 for a onsie. Don't these people realize that babies spit up and pee on these things? I guess not.

I'm kind of ambivalent about even ever putting my kid in the Ramones shirt we bought pre-DS1. It's got pink sleeves, so it'd wait for a daughter. But it's not the kid's interest (and of arguable value as anyone's interest, even if I am very fond of the Ramones) and it just smacks of me as mommy being impressed with my own taste and using my kid as a display board for it or something. Okay, so cutesy puppy and bear outfits are my "taste" as well, but they're just kind of standard and more baby-appropriate.

I saw a 2-y-o kid on her father's personal page wearing a "Rotten" punk T-shirt on the web once... :(

People have definitely lost their minds. You can't make that up.

Ned Merrill...that store should be selling these shirts.

Sorry...forgot to put the link in.

Alex-
ROFLMAO!

TSO-
Yes, people have lost there mids. But to be frank, there is like an ideal way for that part of the anatomy to look? And these women spend their time, with what-mirrors staring at themselves saying "no, I need a tuck there..."

I get loster and loster.

Well, the thing about the Che onesie is that it makes me think of an old Monty Python routine where they were doing a "game show" with one of the contestants being Che Guevara--who could never get an answer correct. I suppose that's not what the designer of the onesie had in mind....

TSO: That's just plain crazy. You got money for that, you got too much money!

oh crap and i thought you finally found a link to the pampers thong!

Dinka,
Eewww, all I keep thinking is what a mess.

Yeah, I saw that on SNL once. It will make a mess, but at least your baby would look good without the bulky diaper.

Does anyone else see the irony in dropping $25.00 down on a onesie with a communist revolutionary on the front of it? Thats like the Circle A anarchy shirt carze of the 80's.

Hey, someone actually tried selling pro-choice baby bibs(now theres an irony for you),why not a communist onesie?

irony? the new planned barrenhood "christmas cards" reading CHOICE ON EARTH.
