Gorbulas has been covered in hives all day. I gave him some Benadryl. I did not call the doctor because I knew they would say give him some Benadryl. But he broke out this morning and he just broke out again and is covered.
What am i doing wrong with him?
Update:I did call the doctor and they said just keep Benadryl in his system until whatever it is that he is reacting to leaches out. As I suspected they did not think there was a link to his previous symptoms and this, or they didn't feel like thinking that far.
Alicia, yes we discontinued the augmentin as soon as he had bloody stools.
I'd call the doctor, honestly. I don't like playing about with a known strep infection and weird little symptoms.
I will be praying for him.
ditto calling the doc - I assume that you stopped the antibiotics? sounds like an allergic reaction to me.

You aren't doing anything wrong-just call the good Doc.
My daughter had hives last year and we gave her baking soda baths (as per the doctor). That kept her comfortable while the Benadryl kicked in.
