Motherhood-Not for Wimps!

| | Comments (5)

I have been trying to get on and blog, but it has nearly been impossible. My family has been gripped by the flu. But this flu lasts for-ever! The baby has not slept now for four nights in a row and does not seem much better. I wanted to bring him into the doctor's yesterday, but they preferrered we stayed home. They said what is going around now takes a good 2-3 weeks as opposed to the standard few days to work it's way out. Fun, fun, fun!

I wonder how many more nights I can go wothout sleep before I start acting stranger than usual.

In the meantime, I did get my hair cut and I am trying to find a moment to update on that and some other thoughts that come up at 3.30 am.

Remember that song from many years ago that went along the lines of "Do your ears hang low?" You reminded me of that song when you mentioned that you got a hair cut, or got your "ears lowered". Speaking of which, what does it look like now?

Valerie over at barefoot and pregnant has been going through the same crud. So have about 30% of my patients. it's cruddy, that's what it is.

Ugh, we've been through it over here, too! But it's not lasting as long for us. My doctor's diagnosis..."Your lungs sound like crap!" Then he said it was walking pneumonia, gave me some antibiotics and I'm a new woman! How could I be perfectly healthy on Tuesday and then have pneumonia just a few days later?

People think that 5 kids is too many/too hard. The only time I tend to agree is when everybody gets sick together or one after the other. Fortunately, that doesn't happen too often.

We have this flu too, although it is waning finally. The baby and two year old still have coughs, but at least are sleeping. This literally takes 3 weeks to get over, then another week to rest up from the exhaustion. Good luck!

Hope things get better Pansy. I feel like death warmed up at the moment just with a cold. I am beginning to think colds and flu are only minor ailements if they are not affecting you or someone you care for. A man at work has had chickenpox and he said he now wonders why they call it minor when it affects kids as he said he had never felt so sick
