Putting it all in perspective

| | Comments (3)

Hambet has been on a crime spree lately, and I have been stalking around muttering about how it's a miracle you haven't seen me on the eleven o'clock news yet, or how it's a miracle that he made it to his fifth birthday (which was on February 22.)

How easy it is to forget. How easy it is to take things for granted -- God forgive me, to take even a child for granted. Hambet was a miracle baby. He arrived after four years of anguished prayer on February 22, 2001. He turned five on February 22, 2006.

February 22, 2006 was the same day that Elena entered eternal life. She would have been seven this Friday. Pray for us, little Elena.

It is good for us to put things in perspective from time to time, isn't it?

Although, it is in the nature of parenthood to worry about our kids too - and that's ok.

I mean, it would be very strange if we weren't concerned at all about their welfare, and sometimes I think the anxieties we have can morph into anger (at least it does for me - I don't really mean to project my stuff onto you!)

Prayers for Elena's family.

How many days do I threaten to sell my kids off to the gypsys, when I hear a friends voice echo in my head, she struggled with infertility, and commented on how she cries every time she hears someone not appreciate the children they have. Then I just have to love them, thank God for them, and remember all the little souls in heaven praying for them. I too, have a nearly 5 year old who tries every day to mame himself, and his siblings,he needs all the prayers heaven can offer.

I've got to go and hug my littles.

Praying for Elena and her family!
