Unisom (not the other kinds) is safe enough during pregnancy. I've taken it the last two - three pregs (in conjunction w/B6- also called Bendectin in other countries) for morning sickness. I find that in order not to have a groggy feeling the following morning, I should take it around 8:30.. about an hr before I actually go to bed... how quick it hits you depends on how full your tummy is. I have never had a problem waking up in the middle of the night for a crying child... if that is a concern. :)
