My brother Thomas will be going to Iraq on January 15 for 17 months. He is stunned, we are all worried of course.

Pansy,
That's a long deployment - most Marines only go for 6-7 months. Some high-level staffs do a 1-year rotation. Anyway, that's one more face and name when I pray the rosary for our deployed Marines.
I may be in Al Anbar myself later on this year.
